An ancient ritual is practiced in order to collect the raw material from which they are produced; a natural fiber made from Palma de Iraca. This ritual is performed during waning moon nights; where the men of these small tribes would go out to collect the fibers from the Iraca Palm. The woman would later clean; wash and dye the fiber naturally to later start weaving in family workshops. The dyes are all naturally extracted from seeds; leaves; branches; beef tongue; walnut; black cedar and minerals; creating an extensive and varied color palette.
